The combined New York Museum of Transportation and Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum ride season opens Sunday, May 15, with activities based on the PBS Kids series Dinosaur Train. Throughout the day kids will enjoy Dinosaur Train crafts, having their picture taken in front of a 6-foot tall free-standing Dinosaur Train standee, watching an all NEW episode of Dinosaur Train, and collecting Dinosaur Train giveaways. The event is free with admission. Our museums offers the only combined train and trolley ride in New York State, with departures from NYMT every half-hour starting at 11:30 a.m. The trolley connects on this special day with a diesel train for continuation to the railroad museum.

Entrance for the event is at 6393 East River Road, and can be reached from I-390 exit 11, taking Route 251 West 1 1/2 miles to East River Road, turning right and going 1 mile. Admission: $8 adults; $7 seniors age 65 and over; $5 children age 3 through 15. The museums are run entirely by dedicated volunteers and are open Sundays only, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All aboard!
