Coming Together – Getting even closer to completion, the museum’s Plymouth BL gas mechanical locomotive now has its Buda prime mover installed and its transmission hooked up. Final transmission work is underway along with fuel and cooling system work. Some of the cosmetic restoration can also be seen with the cab frame remounted.
Welding up an Oil Pan – With connected track planned for this summer, the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum hopes to be able to move its restored Burro Model 40 crane out of the restoration building for use on the museum’s demonstration railroad. One of the final steps to get this unit running is to complete some welding on the transmission oil pan. Art Mummery has that welding work well underway.
