Mission Statement
The Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum is a non-profit educational organization with roots going back to 1937. Our purpose is to educate the public on the technology, history, and impact of the railroad industry in Rochester and the surrounding region through the preservation, restoration, and operation of railroad equipment as well as the display of relevant historic artifacts and documents.
Limited Special Event Hours
The museum is open to the public monthly on special event days only. Your visit includes self-guided tours of our museum exhibits as well as a mile-and-a-half round-trip train ride through our grounds. Please visit www.RochesterTrainRides.com for details.

Just 20 minutes south of downtown Rochester, we are easy to find from Exit 11 off I-390. The museum is located on Route 251 at 282 Rush Scottsville Road, Rush, NY 14543.
