While 1843 was built for the US Military, other railroads also rostered FM's H12-44. Here is a builder's card for a New York Central H12-44. Note the small differences like the small overhang over the rear deck and the small bump on the top of the front of this engine. Our 1843 was built in 1953. This engine was built in 1950.
